Shipping, returns and care
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This page explains how orders are sent, what happens if something goes wrong, how to return a purchase and how to look after your artwork. It forms part of the terms of use and sale. Commissioned work is covered by the commission terms. Nothing here affects your legal rights.
Processing time
Originals and in-stock prints are usually dispatched within 3 to 5 working days of payment. Framed work and made-to-order items show their own timing on the item page. I will email you a tracking number when your order is on its way. If I expect a delay, I will tell you.
Shipping within the UK
Everything is packed flat between rigid boards (or crated if framed), wrapped against damp, insured and tracked, and sent by Royal Mail or a courier. The delivery cost is shown before you pay. Larger or framed pieces may need a courier and a signature.
Shipping abroad
I ship to most countries. The delivery cost is shown before you pay. Customs duties, import VAT and taxes in your country are your responsibility and may be collected by the carrier on delivery. They are not included in the price, and I can't predict them. Delivery times vary with customs, and I am not responsible for delays caused by customs.
Delivery problems
Please check your parcel when it arrives. If it is damaged, or hasn't arrived within the time estimated, tell me within 48 hours of delivery (or within 7 days of the estimated date, if it hasn't arrived), and send photographs of the outside of the packaging and the artwork. Keep all the packaging, as the carrier may need to inspect it. I will arrange a claim, and replace, repair or refund the item as soon as possible. Risk passes to you on delivery, but I am responsible for the work until it reaches you.
Your right to cancel and return
If you are a consumer buying at a distance, you can cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you receive the goods. To do so, tell me clearly in writing (an email is fine) within that time. Then send the item back within 14 days of telling me.
- Return costs are yours unless the item is faulty or not as described. Please send it insured and tracked, as you are responsible for it until I receive it.
- Pack it as carefully as it arrived. A drawing damaged in return can't be resold, and I may deduct an appropriate amount from the refund for any loss in value caused by careless handling.
- I will refund the price you paid and the standard delivery cost within 14 days of receiving the item back, using the same payment method.
- Items must be returned in their original condition and, where possible, their original packaging, with the certificate of authenticity where there is one.
What can't be returned. The right to cancel does not apply to commissions or anything made to your specification or clearly personalised. Please see the commission terms for how cancellation works for those.
Faulty or misdescribed items
By law, items must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If something is faulty, damaged or not as described, contact me promptly with photographs. I will repair, replace or refund the item at no cost to you, including return delivery. This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Handmade variation
Original drawings are one of a kind. Charcoal, ink and paper vary a little from piece to piece and from the photographs on this site, depending on your screen. Small differences like these are part of the work and are not faults.
Caring for original drawings
Charcoal and graphite can smudge. Originals are sprayed with fixative, but please handle them by the edges and frame them behind glass with a mount, so the surface never touches the glazing. Keep them out of direct sunlight, damp and heat.
Caring for ink drawings
Use acid-free mounts and UV-filtering glass. Archival inks are lightfast but, like all works on paper, they will fade over decades in strong light.
Caring for paintings
Oil paintings are varnished when fully dry. Dust gently with a soft, dry brush. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators and damp walls.
Caring for prints
Prints are made with archival pigment inks on cotton rag paper. Handle by the edges and frame behind UV-filtering glass for best longevity.
Framing
Originals can be supplied framed on request. Ask for a quote. Framed work is crated for delivery.
Certificate of authenticity
Every original comes with a signed certificate of authenticity describing the work, medium, size and date. Editions of prints are numbered where stated on the item page.
Payment methods
Payments are processed securely by Stripe, which accepts major cards and common wallets. I never see your full card details.
Discount codes
Welcome and other discount codes are described in the terms of use and sale. Enter your code at checkout. A code can't be added to an order after payment.
